In Kalmar you find a demonstration plant for a combination of heating systems with new technology, where different system concepts and control strategies are measured and evaluated.
The plant contains solar panels, air / water heat pumps, geothermal heat pump, pellet boilers and storage tanks for low-and high-grade heat. In a web-based control and data system, the performance of various components is being determined individually.
The plant heats an industrial building with a maximum power demand of 120 kW. It was built as a test and demonstration plant for larger buildings as part of a collaborative project between the local heating group within Sustainable Sweden Southeast (SSSE) and Linnaeus University. The plant is operated by Euronom AB.
In addition to measurements, the plant is also used at present for the development of user-friendly software for the simulation of the performance of different energy systems. Test facility flexibility means that in the future it will be used for evaluation of newer components and systems, as well as for demonstration and as a resource for education.
