Emcoplate AB have developed a method that stops diffusion of mercury through ceramic refractory lining and neutralises mercury in incinerators and crematoria.
Mercury is the most environmentally dangerous of all heavy metals. The patented QuickSafe® method traps mercury, and also reduce
diffusion of dangerous mercury through ceramic refractory lining.
QuickSafe makes mercury harmless
QuickSafe ampoules capture 98 per cent of the mercury in flue gas from incinerators and crematoria. Each ampoule contains a certain amount of selenium, the selenium is gasified at the same cremation temperature as mercury in amalgam. The two react chemically to form mercury selenide. A stable and insoluble compound which is environmentally neutral. QuickSafe deals with the mercury problem once and for all. The QuickSafe method is used by several crematoria in Sweden.
