Waves4Power (W4P) is a Swedish company seeking to generate a better future for our planet by making a major contribution to the world’s green energy supply system. We offer an efficient sustainable system by supplying clean electricity from ocean waves without emitting GHG (Green House Gases). The wave energy is, like solar and wind, free for anyone to use and has potential to eliminate all need for power from fossil fuel. Waves are like very large “batteries”. Every day they are charged with at least 990 times more energy than humanity consumes.
Our solution – the WaveEL system
Being one of the leading wave power developers in the world, we have demonstrated our full-scale WaveEL™ system in the demanding North Atlantic on Norway’s coast for over 12,000 hours of which 4,000 hours delivered electricity to Norway’s power grid.
A WaveEL™ wave power park consists of one or up to hundreds or even thousands of WaveEL™ buoys arranged in clusters. Each cluster in turn consists of 6-12 power generating WaveEL™ buoys linked together in an optimized pattern and connected to a WaveEL™ Hub. The electricity is transformed in the hub to high voltage for efficient distribution in a sea- cable to the offshore or shore-based power user.
Headquarter and technology centre of excellence is in Gothenburg on the Swedish west coast. We have subsidiaries in Norway, UK, and USA. Waves4Power is also planning to establish a subsidiary in Singapore in late 2021.
