XENSE Vision enables communication with connected vehicles in real time. XENSE Vision’s solution is applicable both within self-driving vehicles and for the analysis of challenging traffic situations that are both inefficient and dangerous.
The product developed contains, among other things, systems to communicate in real time with connected vehicles, but also to analyze traffic situations – for example a crossing – over time, to identify when dangerous situations arise. In this way, traffic planners would not have to guess, but know for sure, where critical situations occur in local locations.
XENSE Vision, was started in 2021 by a group of former employees at Kapsch TrafficCom in Jönköping. In 2022, they were accepted – as the only Swedish startup – in a giant project with participants such as Volvo Cars, Polestar, Ericsson and Veoneer. Now the company has also been allocated money from the “Skyltfonden”, through which the Swedish Transport Administration supports ideas that can make road traffic safer.
XENSE Vision is also involved in the large project ENTICE together with Volvo Cars, Telenor and KTH where self-driving vehicles get increased safety and efficiency with a smart infrastructure based on XENSE Vision’s sensors and 5G. ENTICE is a three-year project that is part-financed by the Advanced Digitization initiative, which is a major investment from Vinnova and the technology industry.
