Umeå Energi develop and provide sustainable solutions for energy and communications services. We are a driving force in the sustainable development of our region, developing new solutions in close cooperation with customers and partners.
We deliver power to private and business customers in the Umeå region and across Sweden, producing energy from solar and wind power as well as our combined heat and power plants. We own, build and maintain the infrastructure for electricity, district heating and broadband in the city of Umeå and surrounding areas. Our heat and power plants, fuelled by residues from household waste and biofuels from forestry by-products, produce the vast majority of heat used in Umeå and nearby Holmsund.
Umeå Energi AB has about 400 employees and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Umeå Kommunföretag (UKF), owned by the municipality of Umeå. Umeå Energi AB owns all shares in the subsidiaries Umeå Energi Elhandel AB, Umeå Energi Elnät AB, Umeå Energi UmeNet AB, Umeå Energi Sol, Vind & Vatten AB and is the majority shareholder in the subsidiary BioEndev AB.
