Domsjö a world class biorefinery

Domsjö Fabriker is part of the Aditya Birla Group, which is the world’s largest producer of viscose fibers. We develop future textile materials from northern spruce to catwalks worldwide. By working together with our customers, we want to make a difference. We are already involved in creating a sustainable bioeconomy that utilizes forest as the unique recourse that it is.

For us, personal customer service, quality and durability is important. Our development is driven by the world’s increasing demand for sustainable products. Our main products are cellulose, lignin and bioethanol, all originating from the sustainable Swedish forest.

Cellulose is Domsjö’s biggest product. It is produced from timber from conifer trees which is mainly from the northern parts of Sweden. Domsjö Factories are certified according to FSC Chain of Custody, which means that all the wood used can be traced back to its origin in our sustainably managed forests. The largest area of use of viscose is in fashion and textiles, although cellulose is also found in many other products, such as medicine tablets and food. It is common for these to require high standards of cleanliness and functionality.

In recent years Domsjö has undergone a powerful change. The traditional pulp mill has developed into a biorefinery which is world class. This has meant that both the processes and equipment have become increasingly complex, which offers our employees exciting and stimulating challenges. With the help of loyal, competent and committed employees, we continue developing the biorefinery.
