Vattenresurs has developed a method that remediates lakes and coastal bays that suffer from nutrient overload and oxygen depletion, and restores them into healthy and clear waters for bathing and fishing.
Vattenresurs has more than 30 years’ certified experience of remediation of lakes and coastal bays. The company started in the early 1990s by two private entrepreneurs. The technology for restoring water quality in lakes was developed in Sweden as early as the 1960s and has been an established method for lake remediation in the United States since the 1970s.
How it works
The original method for lake remediation is however rather crude, as aluminum is spread from the lake surface into the entire water column. Consequently, Vattenresurs developed a refined method, EKOBENTIK, which precipitates aluminum salt into the sediment with great precision. The aluminum salt binds to the phosphorus in the sediment, with the smallest possible environmental impact on the biology of the water body.
In 2020, Vattenresurs was acquired by Feralco Nordic, which gave enabled resources and opportunity to scale up operations.
The patented Ekobentik method, ensures high quality and great precision and does not harm the original flora and fauna. The method is recommended by the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management as well as by regional water-management authorities.
