Biogas Xpose: sustainable biogas production through innovative technologies
BIOGAS XPOSE demonstrates how a region with a high demand for biomethane (BM) can increase the production of BM as a renewable vehicle fuel in an economically and environmentally viable fashion by maximizing regional waste as the resource. The project is reducing the total emissions of carbon dioxide with 334 600 tonnes by sustainable production of BM that replaces fossil fuels in the transportation sector. The project ended in 2018.
Sustainable Travel in Municipality of Örnsköldsvik
In Örnsköldsvik we prioritize sustainable travels and the goal is highlight and use sustainable travel habits in Örnsköldsvik, for example to choose active transportation such as walking and cycling. It may also be to commute by carpooling, or go by public transport such as train or bus. Or best of all not to travel at all. Instead we use Webb- or telephone meetings when it is possible. The municipality’s new Bicycle Plan and parking strategy shows the long-term jobs performed in sustainable travel.
From table to soil – a holistic approach on waste management
The municipality owned waste plant has a holistic view on waste. They work with developing all stages within waste management. From table to soil, as they express it. From smart curbside collection to pumping out biofertilizer to the farmfields.
