AirZyme is pioneering the world’s first enzymatic platform for carbon capture. At the intersection of biotechnology, materials science, and process engineering, they are developing scalable biocatalytic systems that capture CO₂ from both industrial sources and the air.
Powered by nature’s speed, their vertically integrated platform spans enzyme engineering, advanced materials, and system design, delivering the foundation for gigaton-scale carbon removal.
Backed by the Swedish Innovation Agency Vinnova, the Dutch foundation CarbonFix, and the Swedish Energy Agency, and with planned pilots, AirZyme is currently working with Stockholm Exergi, which is building a BECCS facility that will remove 800,000 tonnes of biogenic CO₂ per year, and with Capsol Technologies, as its technology moves from lab-proven to field-tested, with commercial deployment in view.
