Stockholm has been named the smartest city in the world, thanks to its innovative solutions on the environment, digitalisation and social sustainability.

Another factor was the city’s leadership in the GrowSmarter European project, according to the jury.

The city wants to become climate positive by 2040, which would make Stockholm the first in the world. Sweden aims to become carbon neutral by 2045.
