The residents of Riksbyggens Brf Viva in Gothenburg now have access collectively to the mobility services that are included in their accommodation, starting with the bike pool from GoRide and car pool from Sunfleet, as well as the opportunity to buy tickets for public transport.

The first version of the digital mobility service EC2B has been launched. The first users have been able to download and start using the EC2B app for Iphone and Android since the end of February. The initial users are the residents of Riksbyggens Brf Viva in Gothenburg. They now have access collectively to the mobility services that are included in their accommodation, starting with the bike pool from GoRide and car pool from Sunfleet. Via the EC2B app, they now also have the unique opportunity to buy public transport tickets from Västtrafik through a digital retail channel.

– We believe that you can travel more sustainably if it is easy to combine different ways of travelling. That is why it’s great that our tickets are available to be bought together with other modes of transport in the same service during the trial period. We want to be where our customers are and sometimes it is in another app than our own, as in this case, says Marita Albrektson, project manager at Västtrafik.

In the EC2B app, a digital public transport ticket is generated which is valid aboard all types of Västtrafik public transport vehicles.

– We are very pleased that this milestone has been reached and that together with our partner Smart Resenär, we have for the first time in Sweden been able to create this digital integration with the public transport system, says Björn Wendle, CEO of EC2B Mobility AB.

Users also get access in the EC2B app to GoRide’s newly developed system for handling bike pools. But the EC2B service is not just the mobile app. As part of the EC2B, residents are offered an advisory meeting with a mobility expert in connection with moving in, in order to get personalized information on sustainable travel options that meet their particular needs. Mobility evenings with introduction to mobility services are arranged at every move-in stage in Brf Viva. To get help to download the app, try the electric bikes and learn to book and unlock the car pool cars is appreciated.

– The EC2B service should make it easy and attractive to live without your own car and encourage more sustainable travel, says Björn Wendle.

The development of EC2B in Brf Viva is part of the EU-funded IRIS Smart Cities project, where innovative solutions in mobility, energy and ICT are developed and tested. The integration with Västtrafik has been supported by Vinnova.

IRIS Smart Cities is coordinated by Johanneberg Science Park on behalf of the City of Gothenburg.
