Volvo CE in Braås – the industry’s first carbondioxide neutral production site

Volvo Construction Equipment is the world’s third largest manufacturer of construction equipment and related services. The products are sold worldwide and manufacturing is performed in 15 manufacturing facilities in Europe, North and South America and Asia.
Towards the vision of becoming world leader in sustainable transport solutions, we are actively working to reduce the environmental impact of our operations and products, from product development and production to use and recycling of products, based on a total life cycle perspective. The main focus of our sustainability efforts is Energy Efficiency, addressing the global challenges in the areas of climate change, emissions and limited natural resources.
Volvo Construction Equipment’s operation in Braås, 30 km northeast of Växjö, is a global center for the development and production of articulated haulers. The production site in Braås is since December 2013 the first carbondioxide neutral production site within the construction equipment industry, certified according to the Volvo Group’s guidelines. In 2014, a new generation of articulated haulers is launched, comprising new technology for further reduced emissions of nitrogen oxides and particles, with remained high fuel efficiency performance.
